Alabama football potentially flirted with its second straight loss of the season.
It came out flat against South Florida at Raymond James Stadium, had to endure a lightning delay, and made several mistakes versus the Bulls. The Crimson Tide earned a 17-3 victory to improve to 2-1 on the season. Alabama’s musical chair game at quarterback needs to end. Jalen Milroe is the team’s best option, and Ty Simpson comes after him. Tyler Buchner got the start against South Florida; however, he could not establish a rhythm on offense. He completed just five of 14 passes for 34 yards.

Alabama’s passing game was nonexistent, but senior running back Roydell Williams produced his finest career moment.
The Hueytown (Ala.) native pounded the Bulls for a game-high 129 yards.
He averaged 7.6 yards per carry on 17 attempts, including a rushing touchdown. Williams’ longest run went for 48 yards. He posted four attempts of 10+ yards rushing and took over in the second half for the Tide to put the game away. Williams has been patient in waiting for a moment like that. He worked on special teams, took advantage of opportunities as a short-yardage back, and excelled in pass protection. Nick Saban has thoroughly appreciated Williams for his efforts, so his outing meant a lot to him.
