The Dallas Cowboys fear that former Alabama defensive back and Pro Bowler Trevon Diggs will be lost for the season according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoprt.

The team fears that Diggs has suffered a torn ACL during a 1-on-1 drill at practice and was seen leaving practice with crutches. He would undergo an MRI shortly after the session on Thursday which confirmed the unfortunate news.

Before the season Diggs signed a 5-year $97 million extension which included a $21.25 million signing bonus and $42.3 million in guaranteed money.
Through two games this season, Diggs recorded six total tackles, three pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble. Diggs is a big part of the Cowboys’ success defensively as the unit currently sits as the top-ranked defense in the NFL allowing just 10 points per game.
Diggs had previously missed four games during the 2020 season with a foot injury and has missed just one game each of the past two seasons where he was a Pro Bowl selection from the Cowboys.
Diggs originally entered the league in 2020 as a second-round selection and has made 46 starts our of 47 possible games for the Cowboys.
