STEPHEN M. SMITH / SENIOR REPORTER
Alabama 38 – Mississippi State 7
Key Insight: “Alabama’s offense started to find itself in the second half versus Ole Miss. Expect the Crimson Tide to come out fast with the run game and Jalen Milroe attacking with play action. This should be a matchup where the tight ends are involved more too. Defensively, look for the Tide to come after Will Rogers a lot. Miss. State has talented pieces offensively, but it may not have enough to run with the Tide.”
JUSTIN SMITH / SCOUTING/RECRUITING ANALYST
Alabama 35 – Mississippi State 10
Key Insight: “This will be a great opportunity for Alabama football’s offense to continue to gain rhythm. Mississippi State struggled containing LSU’s Jayden Daniels earlier this year, and this could be something Jalen Milroe exploits as well with his athleticism. The Tide’s defense can make a statement this week against a team Nick Saban describes as physical. The Tide’s defensive front is improving, and this should be a good test for them against the run and pass.”
