Alabama football’s freshman defensive back, Caleb Downs was named the SEC freshman of the week after his performance against Mississippi State.
The Crimson Tide defeated the Bulldogs 40-17 on Saturday. Downs had 13 tackles and his first interception in the win. He has 40 tackles and 20 solo tackles through five games.
The former five-star is a product of Mill Creek High School in Georgia.
