Reporters for Alabama football had questions for Nick Saban about Malachi Moore (defensive back) and Darrian Dalcourt (offensive lineman) after the Crimson Tide’s victory over Texas A&M.

Moore sustained a twisted ankle and did not return. Dalcourt had a shoulder issue and did not start the game. Jaeden Roberts, a member of the Tide’s 2021 recruiting class, got the starting nod at left guard. Alabama also had an injury to James Burnip.

The Australian native limped to the medical tent in the second quarter after a punt.

He had two attempts in the matchup against the Aggies, including one traveling 63 yards. Will Reichard, a fifth-year senior, replaced Burnip. The reliable kicker averaged 41.2 yards per punt on four attempts. Reichard totaled 165 yards on punts and had one go for 45 yards. He pinned Texas A&M’s offense inside its 20-yard line once. Reichard also made a 39-yard field goal in Alabama’s 26-20 comeback win. In his postgame presser, Coach Saban said Burnip got a ‘pulled muscle’ in his leg. He did not specify a timetable for when Burnip could be healthy, but Saban may have him as day-to-day for the meeting with Arkansas.

Burnip has had a strong season to this point.

He’s averaging 48 yards per punt and has his eyes on the Ray Guy Award.
