Mal Waldrep earned another Division 1 football offer Friday when the Alabama Crimson Tide’s offensive line coach Eric Wolford offered him.
Waldrep is a product of Central Phenix-City High School in Phenix City, Alabama. The three-star recruit holds more than 14 offers with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Colorado, Georgia and others.
Alabama has been monitoring the junior this season and like what they have seen from him.
“Coach Wolford called me, and told me I had the offer,” Waldrep told Touchdown Alabama. “He told me that I have grown a lot as a player ever since the transfer to central.”
Waldrep is no stranger to Alabama football as he considers it to be his ‘dream’ program.
“Alabama is Alabama,” said Waldrep. “They are the standard. I think coach Saban is the best coach in the game. They have been my dream school since I was little.”
At 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, Waldrep lines up at left tackle for the Red Devils. He has displayed impressive agility and the ability to finish blocks with his strength throughout this season so far. The 2025 recruit feels he can play anywhere along the offensive line.
“My strengths are my feet, my flexibility and my versatility,” Waldrep said. “I believe I can play anywhere I’m needed at the next level.”

There are no plans for Waldrep to visit Alabama at the moment, but he does plan on watching them in action when they play Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
