After defeating Alabama for the first time in 15 years, former Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning is relishing every moment ahead of “The Third Saturday in October.”
During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, Manning had a bit of fun with the Crimson Tide faithful.
“It’s funny,” Manning said. “I can’t think of the last time Alabama’s beaten us. We, obviously, took care of business last year. The series has been so one sided since 2022, so I’m gonna tune in Saturday, but I think I know what’s going to happen because we’ve had our way with them since 2022.”
Despite the fun, Manning has a great deal of respect for the rivalry and was grateful to be a part of it during his time as a Volunteer.
“Alabama-Tennessee is what it’s all about,” he said. “I was honored to be a part of that rivalry for four years. Won three out of the four. I still have some of those cigars. Have them framed. Those are keepsakes for sure.”
Alabama kicks off against Tennessee on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
