Nick Saban is using Alabama football’s BYE week as an opportunity to ‘decompress.’
Saban and the Crimson Tide are 7-1 ahead of a matchup with the LSU Tigers next week. The game’s outcome will have a significant impact on the SEC West division and the College Football Playoff race. Both teams are currently enjoying off weeks which has given Saban an opportunity to celebrate his birthday and enjoy a change of scenery.
“It’s my birthday coming up on Halloween, so we always go to the lake,” Saban said Thursday on the Oat McAfee show. “We have a birthday dinner with a bunch of our friends on Saturday and turn around and come back. But it’s enjoyable. I mean, even though I still watch film and I’ll be looking at LSU cutups and all that stuff, it’s enjoyable to just have a change of scenery if you know what I mean. When you’re working 12 and 14 hours a day ever since, August 1st, it’s great just to have a little time to decompress in a different environment.”
Alabama football has practiced multiple times this week.
