A veteran offensive lineman entered his Tuesday interview in a walking boot.
RELATED: JC Latham supports Jalen Milroe after Alabama’s season opener
JC Latham, a junior at right tackle, has 20 career starts as an offensive tackle — including eight this season. He’s turned in 28 knockdown blocks on 505 snaps, allowing just two sacks of Jalen Milroe. The 6-foot-6, 360-pounder has been the most consistent player up front all season for the Crimson Tide. He sustained an injury against Tennessee, but Latham unveiled his health status for Saturday’s SEC West showdown versus LSU. The winner of the matchup takes control of the division for a championship shot.
“It is doing pretty good,” Latham said about his right foot. “Stuff happens. You are out there, you get banged up, so it is no big deal. I will be ready to play when the game comes.”
Latham got hurt in the third quarter versus the Volunteers, but he helped Alabama to a 34-20 victory.
He will be called upon to help the Tide’s offensive front neutralize Harold Perkins of the Tigers.
