We have seen some incredible journeys for Alabama quarterbacks under Nick Saban, but Jalen Milroe’s might be the most impressive.
He had the worst betting odds to win the starting job for the Crimson Tide in the offseason. Oddsmakers in Las Vegas had Ty Simpson or Tyler Buchner, a Notre Dame transfer, winning the position. Some Alabama fans felt that Milroe was not the best option for the team, but he has the Tide in the driver’s seat to win the SEC Western Division. He has a marquee game against Jayden Daniels and the LSU Tigers on Saturday, but Tuesday brought huge news to the sophomore. Milroe was named to the Davey O’Brien Quarterback Class. The native Texan is one of 35 players in the running for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. He could be the third player in Tide history to win, joining Mac Jones (2020) and Bryce Young (2021).
