What Nick Saban feels Alabama needs to do to play a complete game

Nick Saban discussed what Alabama needs to do to play a complete game against the LSU Tigers during his Wednesday press conference.

The Crimson Tide are scheduled to play the Tigers in an SEC showdown on Saturday, and Saban is hopeful his team can play a complete game in the matchup. Alabama jumped out on Arkansas in the first half earlier in the season but had a subpar second half despite picking up a win over the Razorbacks. It got behind Tennessee a week later and had to storm back to defeat the Vols.

Saban opened up about what he feels Alabama players must do to play a complete 60 minutes on Wednesday.

“They have to make a choice and a decision to do it right,” Saban said. “They got to understand the level of intensity that has to be sustained, the sense of urgency that has to be sustained and how smart you have to be, which goes back to the preparation that you had so that you’re not making mental errors because you’re playing smart and you’re playing with good intelligence. So you got immediacy, intensity and intelligence. Those three things sustain for 60 minutes to a high standard, that’s the challenge and you have to make a choice and decision to do that. It doesn’t just happen in the game. It’s gotta be a habit. If you practice at a high level all the time, you’ll be able to play in the game at a high level all the time. If you don’t do it in practice and you think you’re gonna be able to do it in a game, probably not gonna happen. We keep harping and we keep teaching every time we get the opportunity to point out to a player. This is an opportunity for you to learn how to sustain better in the game.”
