Jalen Milroe’s athleticism leads Alabama to huge victory over LSU

Jalen Milroe showed up and showed out in a different way for Alabama football against LSU.

The combination of him and Tommy Rees shredded the Tigers’ defense at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Milroe guided the Crimson Tide to a 42-28 victory over LSU in a marquee SEC Western Division showdown. The sophomore quarterback outdueled Jayden Daniels of the Tigers on a significant stage. He did not connect on any deep passes or record a touchdown pass, but his athleticism was what Alabama needed to punish LSU. Milroe became the first quarterback in the University of Alabama’s history to post four rushing scores in a game. He had 155 yards rushing on 20 carries, averaging 7.8 yards per rushing attempt. Milroe found ways to answer each score from Daniels and maintain the Tide’s confidence on offense.

He did complete 15 of 23 passes for 219 yards. The most significant part of the game was that Milroe did not turn the ball over.

He assisted the Tide to an effective performance on third downs, converting 11 of 14 attempts. Milroe entered the matchup with 18 total touchdowns, but now he has 22. Alabama improves to 8-1 on the season, including a 6-0 record in conference play.

The native Texan has his team securely in the driver’s seat for an SEC Championship opportunity.
