The Crimson Tide’s mindset for this matchup was different, especially after losing at Tiger Stadium last season. Alabama played with an edge to it, including a dominant showing from its defense in the second half. Jalen Milroe, a sophomore quarterback, put on a show that Pat McAfee predicted on ESPN’s College GameDay before the contest happened. He said Milroe could put himself in the Heisman Trophy conversation, and the native Texan probably did it. Milroe became the first Alabama quarterback in school history to post four rushing touchdowns in a game. He had 219 yards passing and 155 yards rushing for the Tide.

Milroe flexed on a few LSU defenders and trucked one to the ground on a running play.

He explained to reporters afterward the mentality the Tide took into getting revenge.

“There was a whole lot of LANKing going on out there,” Milroe said.

LANK is an acronym that Milroe and Terrion Arnold started in the summer. It means “Let. A. Naysayer. Know.”

So many have doubted Milroe and the Tide this season, so they took the opportunity to let them know Alabama is not going anywhere. Alabama’s defense handled Jayden Daniels in the second half while its offense totaled a 40-point outing.

The Tide has the attention of the college football world as it seeks a conference championship.
