Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe put on a show versus Louisiana State University that impressed the masses in a 42-28 victory for the Crimson Tide.
He turned in 219 yards passing, 155 yards rushing, and four touchdowns. Milroe became the first quarterback in school history to total four rushing scores in a game. The sophomore guided the Tide to efficiency on offense, converting 11 of 14 third-down attempts. He also helped provide balance for an offense that played its best game to this point.
Milroe has garnered much recognition from the matchup against the Tigers, including several awards. He earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week, Manning Stars of the Week, Maxwell Player of the Week, Davey O’Brien “Great 8” list, and Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week honors.
Milroe is starting to gain consideration for the Heisman Trophy conversation. He has to turn up his production in the passing game, but there is still an opportunity for him. Alabama has Kentucky, Auburn, and the SEC Championship Game (possibly) for Milroe to command attention.
He has 22 total touchdowns on the season.
Milroe is now getting Alabama prepared to face Kentucky on the road.
