Jalen Hurts took the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance last season, and he’s building off it with tremendous leadership this year.

Hurts has the Eagles at 8-1, despite battling a left knee injury. He has not been 100 percent; however, the former University of Alabama quarterback ranks among the top quarterbacks in the National Football for several categories. He is fifth in the league for passing yards (2,347), fifth for touchdown passes (15), seventh for quarterback rating (65.2), and 10th for passer rating (97).

Hurts has defeated Dak Prescott, Tua Tagovailoa, Mac Jones, and Kirk Cousins. He has four games with 2+ touchdown passes, including a season-high four scoring tosses against the Washington Commanders. According to Bovada, a sports betting site, Hurts shares the highest betting odds to win Most Valuable Player of the National Football League. His odds are +350 while Tagovailoa, his former Crimson Tide teammate, has the fourth highest odds to win MVP at +650. Hurts takes on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend. A marquee game from him could strengthen his lead in the MVP race.

His eyes are on getting the Eagles back to the Super Bowl and winning it.
