He is becoming one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season, but his athleticism has never been an issue.

Jalen Milroe, a sophomore, came to the University of Alabama in 2021 as a four-star dual-threat quarterback.

The native Texan has played his best lately, including a record-setting performance versus LSU. He became the first signal-caller in school history to record four rushing touchdowns in a game. Milroe carried the Crimson Tide to a 42-28 victory over the Tigers.

His first rushing score of the matchup came in the first quarter.

Milroe took off on a zone read option around the left side for a 23-yard touchdown. According to Reel Analytics, Milroe reached a top speed of 20.9 miles per hour on the run. He is arguably the fastest player on the team, aside from wide receiver Isaiah Bond.

Milroe’s explosiveness allowed him to total 155 yards rushing on the Tigers. His first score of the game ranked him among the fastest players in college football during Week 10. He posted the fifth-fastest miles per hour speed on a touchdown.

Milroe can turn in another excellent performance Saturday on the road against Kentucky.

A victory for the Tide secures the SEC West crown.
