The Southeastern Conference Championship Game looks to be another exciting matchup between teacher and student.
Alabama and Georgia pits Nick Saban against Kirby Smart. Saban is 4-1 against his former assistant, and the lone defeat happened in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game to finish the 2021 season. He’s beaten Smart in two SEC Championship Games, a CFP National Championship Game, and a regular season matchup. Marquee implications for the CFP will be on this contest from Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, Ga.) on Saturday, Dec. 2. According to Chuck Dunlap, the SEC Communications Director, the uniform for the Crimson Tide has been unveiled for the SEC title game as it will be the home team.
The Western Division champion is designated as the “Home” team for the 2023 SEC Championship Game, thus Alabama will wear the traditional home dark jerseys. Georgia will be the ‘away’ team and will wear the whites.
