Alabama captured its 10th SEC Western Division title with a 49-21 victory last week over Kentucky. Georgia represents the Eastern Division as its champion, and both schools will meet for a fourth time to decide the conference champion.

Alabama and Georgia will battle at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, Ga.) on Saturday, Dec. 2. According to Brett McMurphy, a College Football Insider for Action Network HQ, the Bulldogs have opened as a three-point favorite over the Tide for Las Vegas.

Alabama defeated Georgia for an SEC Championship in 2012, 2018, and 2021. It was an underdog to the Bulldogs in 2021, but Bryce Young and Alabama’s offense put on a show. Young totaled 421 passing yards and four touchdowns, pushing the Crimson Tide to a 41-24 victory over Georgia. Young went on to become the first Tide quarterback to win the Heisman Memorial Trophy.

Nick Saban is 4-1 all-time against Kirby Smart. He defeated Smart in the 2018 and 2021 SEC Championship matchups.

Alabama has played well in the underdog role, so we’ll see what happens this time.
