Alabama took the field last weekend against Kentucky missing three key starters that included wide receiver Jermaine Burton, linebacker Deontae Lawson and defensive back Jaylen Key.

On Wednesday following practice, head coach Nick Saban offered the latest update on the trio on the injury list.

“Jermaine Burton is fine. He’s practiced,” Saban said. “Jaylen and Deontae are both moving around, running, rehabbing, getting close to being ready to practice and play.

“But I’d say it’s still pretty questionable as to whether they can make it for the game. If they can’t practice tomorrow then most of the time we don’t — if guys can’t practice on Thursday, we don’t think they’re healthy enough to play in the game, but we’ll see what comes of that tomorrow.”

Burton missed the game against the Wildcats with an illness with Lawson and Key still dealing with their injuries from the LSU game.

Despite the absence of Lawson and Key, Saban was still pleased with the production he got from linebacker Jihaad Campbell, Trezmen Marshall and defensive backs Kristian Story and Trey Amos.

Alabama will kickoff against Chattanooga at 11 a.m. inside Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.
