Roydell Williams has scored touchdowns in each of Alabama football’s last two wins.
The Hueytown, Alabama native has provided a burst for the Crimson Tide while sharing time in the backfield with Jase McClellan and Jam Miller this season. He has rushed for a career-high 419 yards and two touchdowns this season to go along with 49 receiving yards and two scores.
Saban discussed what Williams has meant to Alabama during his Wednesday press conference.
“Roydell’s a great team guy,” Saban said. “I mean, really good special teams’ player, great character. I think he loves Alabama, loves his teammates. He’s a really good teammate, been very productive every opportunity that he’s gotten, whether it’s to play running back or do something on special teams being kickoff returner. He’s always the first one to step up. He’s always got a smile on his face. I think he’s a great example for guys that sort of persevere in their career and overcome obstacles and become very successful because of that. Because I think that’s probably one of the ingredients you need to have to be successful.”
Williams will be honored on senior day Saturday when Alabama takes on Chattanooga.
