Alabama football appeared to pay homage to one of the best to ever suit up for the Crimson Tide with its recent social media post.
The Tide captioned an edited version of Caleb Downs’ punt return for a touchdown against Chattanooga with the caption, “The Deuce is Loose.” The Deuce is a nickname former Tide wide receiver and return specialist, David Lee Palmer earned during his time in Tuscaloosa. Palmer was a part of the Crimson Tide’s 1992 National Championship team and was once a Heisman Trophy finalist.
