Will Alabama football maintain focus for its annual in-state rivalry matchup?

The Crimson Tide takes on Auburn in the Iron Bowl on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Alabama endured a hostile environment and four overtime periods to pull out a 24-22 victory in 2021. The Tide suffered defeats to the Tigers in 2017 and 2019, missing out on Southeastern Conference Championship opportunities. Hugh Freeze, Auburn’s head coach, had not had an incredible first year. He can salvage the season with a victory over Alabama to enter the postseason.

According to Circa Sports, the Tide is a significant favorite.

The betting site has Alabama handling Auburn by 15 points. Nick Saban’s group comes off a 56-point victory, 66-10, over Chattanooga at Bryant-Denny Stadium. It was the fourth time Alabama scored 40+ points while earning a season-high 66.

CBS will have the Iron Bowl broadcast at 2:30 p.m. CT. Alabama is still alive for a College Football Playoff shot.
