The quarterback situation for the New England Patriots had been kept under secrecy this week after the team fell to 2-8 two weeks ago.
Mac Jones and backup Bailey Zappe were reportedly splitting reps this week after Jones’ underwhelming performance against the Indianapolis Colts but even up until Saturday, there was no word on who would be taking the field first against the New York Giants.
But according to the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, the Patriots will be sticking with Jones as the starter on Sunday.
The #Patriots are planning to start QB Mac Jones against the Giants, per source.

Despite being benched three times this season, Jones had reportedly outperformed Zappe during practice which ultimately gave him the opportunity to remain the starter.
In his third year in the NFL, Jones has thrown for 2,031 yards 10 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and completed 65.4% of his passes through 10 games.
The Patriots and the Giants will kickoff at 1 p.m. ET on Fox.
