In the midst of Alabama’s celebration on the field of Jordan-Hare Stadium, starting running back Jase McClellan could be seen leaving the game using crutches.

There was no immediate report on McClellan following the Crimson Tide’s 27-24 win but head coach Nick Saban gave an update during the SEC Championship Game teleconference on Sunday.

Saban shared that McClellan is continuing to battle a foot injury that has been an issue all season and is currently listed as “day-to-day” this week. He added that it isn’t clear as to whether he will be available for Saturday’s SEC Championship Game as of today.

“He’s had a little foot injury all year long,” Saban said. “He tweaked it in the game. So he’ll be day-to-day this week. I can’t tell you how much progress he’ll make. Probably the next 48 hours will tell us whether he’ll make the kind of progress he needs.”

McClellan is Alabama’s leading rusher with 803 yards and six touchdowns on 166 carries this season.
