The Georgia Bulldogs’ starting quarterback Carson Beck was once set on spending his college football days at the University of Alabama.
Beck verbally committed to Alabama in the summer of 2018. He backed off his pledge close to seven months later. The Georgia product eventually committed and signed with the Bulldogs.
The Georgia quarterback discussed his thoughts on Saban and the Alabama program on Monday.
“That was a long time ago, but obviously a great coach, one of the greatest of all time. Just stern with it, sets a standard,” Beck said. “It’s a very similar program to Georgia and the things that we believe in, the ideals. But obviously Coach Saban is a great coach, and I have tons of respect for him.”
The Crimson Tide will look to slow down Beck and the Georgia offense Saturday in Atlanta.
