There isn’t much that gets by Nick Saban, but if anyone could sneak some funny business behind him it’d be Lane Kiffin.
When speaking with the media on Thursday, Saban was informed of a now-famous game of tug-of-war between Kiffin and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart when the two were at Alabama.
“I do not (recall),” Saban said when asked if he remembered the moment. “But my money would have been on Kirby. If I was going to bet.”
Kiffin had first shared the story back at the start of November when Ole Miss was preparing to play Georgia, where he recalled his victory.
“We did tug-of-war during the players’ fourth-quarter drills,” Kiffin said during the SEC Coaches Teleconference. “I beat him, but he won’t like that story if you ask him.”
If one thing’s for sure, Saturday’s matchup between Alabama and Georgia will surely be another round 0f tug-of-war for the SEC Championship.
