Alabama kicker Will Reichard now stands alone on top of the NCAA’s all-time points leader as he surpassed Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds.
Reichard’s go-ahead score came in the first quarter with a 33-yard field goal.
A fifth-year senior, Reichard came into Saturday’s contest making 80-of-96 field goals and completing 290-of-292 extra points throughout his historic career.
“I’m extremely happy for Will,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said after Reichard became the all-time leader in points in SEC history. “He has been probably as good a player at his position, even though he’s a specialist, as anybody that we’ve ever had here.”
If it wasn’t already clear before, Reichard will now surely go down as the greatest kicker in the history of Alabama football.
