Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Booker kept the receipts on former Georgia player David Pollack who had previously claimed that the Bulldogs were the new standard of college football.
On Saturday, things turned out a bit differently for Pollack’s alma mater as the Crimson Tide won 27-24, securing another SEC Championship.
After the game, Booker let Pollack and others know that Alabama didn’t go anywhere.
“We just knew we had to make our statement today,” Booker said. “Especially when you got guys like David Pollack saying that the standard is Georgia. The standard can only be imitated, not replicated. There’s only one Alabama, and there’s always going to be one Alabama.
“The message was, we are the standard. There would be no Georgia without Alabama. We are the standard. We proved that today. We might have had a slow two years, but the standard is here. We are the standard. Block out what everybody else says. David Pollack, we are the standard.”
Alabama has silenced the doubters again as it has all season as it now awaits the College Football Playoff selection show to see if it can continue its run in the postseason.
