The final score in this year’s Southeastern Conference Championship Game did not indicate the dominance the University of Alabama showed on the field versus Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Alabama earned a 27-24 victory, but its offensive and defensive lines controlled the game.

Georgia totaled just 78 yards rushing and converted four third downs on 12 attempts. Alabama held the Bulldogs off the scoreboard in the second quarter and sacked Carson Beck twice. The Crimson Tide should have had four interceptions, but its defensive backs could not finish plays. Jalen Milroe finished with two touchdown passes and earned SEC Championship Game Most Valuable Player honors. He has his team in the College Football Playoff, but he explained Friday on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning the moment Alabama had the SEC Championship Game won over Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs in Atlanta, Ga.

“I am big on body language and looking in the opponent’s eyes,” Milroe said. “They (Georgia) looked defeated, and they did not want anymore. I knew and our team knew it was going to be a 60-minute game, and Georgia did not believe that.”
Georgia scored the first touchdown of the matchup; however, the Tide settled in and fought back.
Alabama’s defense adjusted and its offense made plays when it mattered. The Let All Naysayers Know “LANK” mentality has pushed the Tide in the playoff. Milroe is now prepared to guide Alabama’s offense to a CFP National Championship.
