Alabama fans react to Jalen Milroe’s finish in 2023 Heisman Trophy race

Alabama QB Jalen Milroe (#2) holds the SEC Championship MVP honor after the Crimson Tide defeated Georgia.
Brett Davis - USA Today Sports

Jalen Milroe has good enough stats, an incredible storyline, a Southeastern Conference Championship, and a College Football Playoff spot to be a Heisman Trophy finalist.

The starting quarterback for the University of Alabama was not selected to go to New York City for the presentation, but his focus is on winning a CFP National Championship. Milroe sees an opportunity to win the Heisman next year; however, it is remarkable to see how he finished this race. The native Texan suffered a loss to Texas in week two and was benched for Tyler Buchner in week three versus South Florida, yet it did not deter him. Milroe started playing his best football against LSU, and his name jumped into the Heisman conversation. He finished sixth in the voting behind Jordan Travis of Florida State University. Jayden Daniels (LSU), Michael Penix Jr., (Washington), Bo Nix (Oregon), and Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State) are the Heisman finalists.
