He did not win the Lou Groza Award, but Will Reichard is heading to something better.
The reliable kicker for the University of Alabama football program has accepted an invitation to compete in the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. Reichard could have declared for the NFL Draft after the 2022 season, but he chose to return to school.

His decision allowed him to become the NCAA’s all-time career leader for points (539). He made 20 of 23 field goals and did not miss an extra point attempt in 53 tries. Reichard also turned in 47 touchbacks on 82 kickoffs and had four punts for 165 yards.

A native of Hoover, Ala., he helped the Crimson Tide win a Southeastern Conference Championship and return to the College Football Playoff. Reichard earned SEC Special Teams Player of the Year and made first-team All-SEC. He is looking forward to assisting Alabama in beating Michigan in the Rose Bowl and getting the Tide to a CFP National Championship.
