Alabama had a player in the top 10 of this year’s Heisman Trophy race.
Jalen Milroe, a sophomore, was not selected to go to New York City and attend the Heisman Trophy presentation as a finalist; however, he did finish at No. 6 in the voting. He turned in a season where he totaled 2,718 passing yards, 468 rushing yards, 35 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Milroe guided the Crimson Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and has it back in the College Football Playoff.
The native Texan earned Most Inspiring Player, Offensive Player of the Year, Most Valuable Player, and Captain awards. Milroe is one of three permanent team captains, joining Dallas Turner (linebacker) and Malachi Moore (defensive back).
He is tied for fifth all-time in school history for total touchdowns in a single season (35) for the Tide.

ESPN has Milroe as a way-too-early candidate for the 2024 Heisman Trophy. The network watched Milroe grow from being benched versus South Florida to leading Alabama to become one of the best four teams in college football for the playoff.
He is focused on playing Michigan in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day in one of two CFP Semifinal matchups.
