Aeryn Hampton decided to flip his commitment from Texas to Alabama on National Signing Day with the Crimson Tide, and Nick Saban is excited to have him in Tuscaloosa in the future.
Hampton is a product of Daingerfied High School in Daingerfield, Texas. He is considered an athlete because of his potential to play defensive back or wide receiver at the next level. The Tide plan to line him up at wide receiver in the future.
Saban likes the fire Hampton plays with.
“Bubba is kind of a dog man,” Saban said during his National Signing Day press conference on Wednesday. “He is one of those guys that’s a great competitor, makes a lot of plays, whatever he plays on offense, wherever he plays on the field. He doesn’t come off the field very often. They had a very successful season this year. I know they had a disappointment in the playoffs, this guy is a great competitor. He can do a lot of things and we’re really excited about having him.”
The four-star made plays on both sides of the football at multiple positions during his senior season as he shined at wide receiver with his ability to be dynamic with the ball in his hands. On defense, Hampton was a defensive back, who closed on the football really quickly and brought the hammer when he made hits.
