The Rose Bowl matchup for the College Football Playoff Semifinal could be one for the ages.

Two traditional power programs in college football, Alabama and Michigan, battle each other on New Year’s Day for an opportunity to compete for a CFP National Championship. Michigan opened the betting lines in Las Vegas as a 1.5 to 2-point favorite, and a Wolverines alum believes his Alma mater will defeat the Crimson Tide by double digits. Taylor Lewan, a former Michigan offensive lineman, feels the Wolverines are tougher, better coached, and a better team from top to bottom.

Jermaine Burton, a senior wide receiver for Alabama, fired back at him, but Lewan feels he has gotten into the heads of the Alabama players. He responded to Burton’s message on social media with “I have successfully infiltrated the minds of the Alabama players. Michigan by double digits.”

Alabama earned a 35-16 victory over the Wolverines in the 2019 Citrus Bowl.

Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh will face each other for a second time. All eyes will be on Pasadena (Calif.) to open 2024 as Saban is pursuing a seventh national championship as Alabama’s head coach. Lewan feels Michigan has Alabama right where it wants them.
