A former Alabama wide receiver and 2020 Heisman Trophy winner is gearing up to push through an injury.
DeVonta Smith did not practice Thursday and Friday, and he was limited on Saturday. The former five-star receiver for the Crimson Tide suffered a knee injury. He is in his third season with the Philadelphia Eagles as a former first-round draft pick.

Smith is closing in on a second straight 1,000-yard receiving season.
He has 74 receptions for 957 yards and six touchdowns through 14 regular season matchups. The 6-foot, 170-pounder has two 100-yard games this season, but Smith is trying to propel the Eagles to an NFC East Division crown. He told NBC Sports Philadelphia, “If I can walk, I can play,” in preparing for Monday’s divisional game against the New York Giants.
Smith is the ultimate competitor, and he’s been that way since high school.
He earned two College Football Playoff National Championships (2017 and 2020) at Alabama, including one in 2017 where he made the game-winning touchdown reception against Georgia in the 2018 CFP National Championship matchup.
