It has been a mass exodus Wednesday for the University of Alabama football program.
Nine players have entered the NCAA transfer portal since Monday’s loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl.
Two offensive linemen (Seth McLaughlin, Terrence Ferguson), two wide receivers (Malik Benson, Shazz Preston), two defensive backs (Earl Little II, Kristian Story), a quarterback (Eli Holstein), a defensive lineman (Monkell Goodwine), and a tight end (Miles Kitselman) have decided to take their talents elsewhere.
According to Nick Kelly of Tuscaloosa News, some positive news did happen for the Crimson Tide. Ty Simpson, a redshirt freshman quarterback, is not expected to enter the transfer portal.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Alabama QB Ty Simpson is not expected to enter the transfer portal, @tuscaloosanews can confirm. Believe @TimWatts_BOL was first on this

Tim Watts of BamaOnline was first to the story, but Simpson is not expected to enter the portal.
He came in the Crimson Tide’s 2022 recruiting class as a five-star from Westview High School in Martin, Tenn. Simpson redshirted his initial freshman season after appearing in four games.
He saw action in six matchups in 2023, completing 11 of 20 passes for 179 yards. Simpson came off the bench for Alabama in week three against South Florida to lead the team on two 80+ yard scoring drives in a 17-3 victory.

He will compete against Dylan Lonergan and Julian Sayin (true freshman) to remain the backup to Jalen Milroe.
Simpson also look to possibly take the starting job from Milroe in the spring.
