He has an aspiration of getting the franchise back to the Super Bowl and winning it; however, the University of Alabama alumnus suffered an injury in Sunday’s 10-27 loss to the New York Giants in the regular-season finale. Hurts completed seven of 16 passes for 55 yards with an interception, but his timing was offset by a dislocated middle finger on his throwing hand.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Hurts underwent X-rays and had no fracture on his finger. He’s taking things day-by-day and looks to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Monday in the NFC wild-card game at Raymond James Stadium.

Hurts finished the regular season ranked 14th in the National Football League for passing yards (3,858).  He also has 38 total touchdowns to 15 interceptions. Philadelphia is not the same team it was last season, but a healthy Hurts puts it in a position to compete for a Super Bowl opportunity.
