Mac Jones has had two straight rough seasons as a starting quarterback in New England.

Bill Belichick and the Patriots have not set him up for success as the guy, and now the offseason is here. New England is out of the playoffs (4-13 record) and looking to see what it could get at quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft. We do not know the fate of Belichick as a head coach, especially with his output this season. Robert Kraft, owner of the franchise, could pull the plug on Belichick’s reign and start over. Jones, a former Alabama standout, had 2,120 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
The Patriots brought Bill O’Brien back as an offensive coordinator, but it did not help Jones at all.
The former College Football Playoff National Champion in 2020 spoke to New England reporters after Sunday’s game.
He loves being a part of the Patriots organization, but Jones is not ruling out the possibility of leaving.
Mike Kadlick, who covers New England for WEEI, reports that Jones said “we will see how it goes.”
