Alabama football has four former 5-stars from its 2021 recruiting class — Dallas Turner, JC Latham, Kool-Aid McKinstry, and Terrion Arnold — entering the NFL Draft without a national championship ring.
It is the first time in Nick Saban’s tenure he has a recruiting class come through the program and not secure a national championship. The Crimson Tide brought in a strong group of prospects during early signing day. Coach Saban looks for his 2024 class to be impactful. Some names may have to emerge early to help next year’s team win a College Football Playoff national title.
One name has started to embrace the challenge.
Jayshawn Ross, a four-star edge rusher from Kansas City, Mo., is working in the weight room before spring practice.
He was an incredible athlete in his senior season at Liberty North High School. The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder had 23 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and eight sacks in 2023. He also caught 12 passes for 254 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Ross could be a gifted defensive star as an outside linebacker. He shared a photo to Instagram of him looking cut up and ready to contribute.
We will see how much growth he makes in the 4th Quarter Program and spring practice.
