Alabama football signed two running backs during the early signing period, putting together a solid duo.
Neither Daniel Hill nor Kevin Riley were committed to Alabama before the early signing period started, but both signed with Alabama during the three-day early signing window
Hill is the bigger of the two backs at approximately 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds. He is more of a power back, but the Mississippi product is more athletic than your traditional strong running back. He has one of the best verticals among running back prospects in the 2024 recruiting class which is something you rarely see from bigger backs. He also has consistent hands as a receiver out of the backfield. He will have an opportunity to be an every down back in Tuscaloosa in the future.
Riley is one of the most explosive running backs in the country. He appears to hit a second gear when he is in the open field as it looks as if he is getting faster with each step as he accelerates with the football in his hand. He also runs the football with good balance as arm tackles do not take down the 195-pounder with ease. His explosiveness and balance combined with his ability to change directions makes him a serious weapon. He also flashes an ability to catch the football out of the backfield.
Alabama’s running back room has a plethora of talent for the future with the addition of Riley and Hill.
