We have seen numerous potential candidates in the rumor mill, but no announcement has come from Greg Byrne. Byrne, the Tide’s athletics director, has a major decision on his hands to find a coach to get the program into the post Saban era. He is working to get the right name in; however, a Fox Sports analyst reveals a name he believes should be Alabama’s next coach.

Joel Klatt was featured on The Herd/with Colin Cowherd and said Kalen DeBoer of Washington is the name for Alabama.

He mentioned that he would be ‘surprised’ if DeBoer is the not the next head coach for the Tide.

DeBoer, 49, has a career coaching record of 104-12 at Sioux Falls (Great Plains Athletic Conference; NAIA program), Fresno State, and Washington. He has a 25-3 record in back-to-back seasons (2022-23) with the Huskies, including 14 wins last year.

DeBoer led Washington to a Pac-12 Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff appearance.
