Alabama football has its new head coach, but now it must act swiftly on who it will keep on its current staff and who will it allow Kalen DeBoer to bring in from Washington.
The Crimson Tide lost Holmon Wiggins (wide receivers coach) and Travaris Robinson (secondary coach) to Southeastern Conference opponents. Wiggins is now at Texas A&M while Robinson takes a co-defensive coordinator position at Georgia.

DeBoer is the lone coach listed on Alabama’s 2024 football staff directory. He needs to keep names such as Robert Gillespie, Freddie Roach, Joe Cox, and Robert Bala on staff. Roach knows the state of Alabama and is a pivotal coach for the Tide in recruiting. Gillespie has been great with running backs, and Cox recruits and develops tight ends exceptionally well.
Bala, a California native, is good with inside linebackers.
Rumors say DeBoer is bringing his staff from Washington, but he needs to keep some of the current coaches at Alabama to help him navigate in the SEC. Hopefully, the Crimson Tide will be able to hold on to some of the current names on staff.
