He would have been a perfect candidate to return to his Alma mater as head coach, but Alabama fans understand that DeMeco Ryans has a bigger purpose on his life.
The former Alabama linebacker got the Houston Texas, the NFL franchise that drafted him as a player, into the AFC playoffs as AFC South Division Champions. It played last weekend versus the Cleveland Browns at home, and Ryans’ team dominated Cleveland in the AFC Wild Card Round at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Ryans had C.J. Stroud, John Metchie, Will Anderson Jr., and Christian Harris ready to play.
Stroud had three touchdown passes, Metchie caught three passes for 44 yards, Anderson collected three tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack, and a quarterback hit, and Harris produced a monster game. He had eight total tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, a pass breakup, a quarterback hit, and an interception returned for a touchdown.

Ryans had the Texans suffocating the Browns in a 45-14 victory.
It may not be a Super Bowl team, but Houston is playing with a lot of confidence.
Ryans has this group prepared to make a huge postseason run.
