Kalen DeBoer is expected to add another head coach to his staff at Alabama.
According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, Buffalo head coach Maurice Linguist is expected to join the Crimson Tide as a defensive assistant. The speculation as of now is that Linguist will coach the defensive backs.
Alabama is expected to hire Buffalo head coach Maurice Linguist as a defensive assistant, likely working with the secondary, sources tell @ClowESPN and me. Linguist, who finished his third season at UB, is the second sitting FBS head coach to join Kalen DeBoer's defensive staff.

Linguist has served as the head coach of the Bulls for three seasons and has a record of 14-23.
He does have extensive experience as a defensive backs coach in the South as he served as the cornerbacks coach for Texas A&M and then served as the defensive backs coach for the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. He also had a stop as the safeties coach for Mississippi back in 2016.
Linguist is now the second head coach to join DeBoer’s staff as South Alabama head coach Kane Wommack is set to become the Alabama defensive coordinator.
