Alabama’s first father/son legacy in football under Nick Saban is remaining committed to the Crimson Tide.
He was recruited by Nick Saban, but Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will play for Kalen DeBoer. The three-star defensive back in this recruiting cycle from Gadsden (Ala.) City High School shared on social media he is locked in with Alabama.

Kirkpatrick was one of nine in-state prospects the Tide brought into this class. The 6-foot, 192-pounder excelled as a defensive back and return specialist in high school. He performed very well in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game, choosing Alabama over Auburn in the recruiting cycle. His father, Dre Kirkpatrick, was a two-time BCS National Champion (2009, 2011) at cornerback for the Crimson Tide. He would also become a first round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
