Former Alabama tight end Amari Niblack announced on his social media late Thursday night that he intends to transfer to Texas.
Niblack is amongst the several players who entered the transfer portal following the retirement of head coach Nick Saban last week. He now joins wide receiver Isaiah Bond in being the second former member of the Crimson Tide to join Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns.
After serving in a reserve role during his freshman season, Niblack broke onto the scene in 2023 as Alabama’s most productive tight end. In 14 games, Niblack caught 20 passes for 327 yards and five touchdowns.
He was expected to be a major returning contributor this upcoming season, but now he will be aiding the offense a new SEC rival.
