Alabama now has its second member of its 2024 recruiting class to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Jameer Grimsley, a four-star athlete, entered the portal on Thursday. Now, five-star quarterback Julian Sayin has decided to transfer out of the Crimson Tide’s program. The California native made the decision via Pete Thamel of ESPN. Sayin wanted to play for head coach Nick Saban, but his retirement has led to the talented quarterback wanting to pursue other options.

Caleb Odom, a four-star tight end in the 2024 class, is hurt by Sayin’s decision to leave. The native Georgian participated with Sayin in Rose Bowl practices for Alabama’s matchup against Michigan. Odom was looking forward to a fun career with Sayin following a successful tenure at Carrollton (Ga.) High School. He reacted to Sayin’s decision on social media.

Alabama has Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson, Dylan Lonergan, and now Austin Mack (transfer from Washington) on its roster as quarterbacks. Sayin joins Eli Holstein (now at Pittsburgh) as the second signal-caller to enter the portal to leave Alabama.
