Kalen DeBoer strikes for a third time in the NCAA transfer portal as Alabama’s new head football coach.

He pulled an offensive lineman and a quarterback from the University of Washington, and now he grabs an explosive wide receiver from the Huskies. Pete Thamel of ESPN was first to report Germie Bernard has committed to the University of Alabama from the transfer portal. He caught 34 passes in 2023 for Washington for 419 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

Bernard rushed for two touchdowns and was an active return specialist, helping the Huskies win a Pac-12 Championship and advanced into the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. The 6-foot-1, 203-pounder is a Las Vegas native who fills in the place that Isaiah Bond left behind. Bernard transferred to Washington after spending the 2022 season (freshman year) at Michigan State in the Big Ten. He caught seven passes for the Spartans as a freshman, including two for touchdowns.

Bernard also had six kickoff returns for 116 yards.

Alabama fans are excited to have him out the portal, and they reacted to the news on social media.
