In-state 2025 recruits Alabama should consider offering

daylyn upshaw

Alabama football is targeting multiple in-state 2025 recruits under Kalen DeBoer and the new-look Alabama staff.

The Crimson Tide will continue to evaluate several others, who could earn offers from them in the future. Here is a look at some of the state’s rising and established talent, who could be in a position to get recruited by Alabama next.

Eric Winters – Athlete – Enterprise

Winters is simply one of the best high school football prospects in the country. It is honestly surprising Alabama has not offered the elite prospect out of Enterprise High School yet as his position versatility is outstanding. At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, the junior has the potential to play on all three levels on the defensive side of the football. Simply put, he is a football player. The type of player you line up and just watch produce. The Wildcats allow him to show his full arsenal as a wildcat quarterback on offense and as a hybrid defender. He takes defensive snaps at safety, as an off-the-ball linebacker and has experienced playing off the edge. Georgia and Auburn are just a few of the schools, who are heavily recruiting Winters.

Daylyn Upshaw – Wide Receiver – Central Phenix City

Upshaw had a breakout season for the Red Devils while playing on the opposite side of Cam Coleman as he finished his junior season with 1,185 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. At 6-foot and 175 pounds, Upshaw shows great promise at the wide receiver position. He explodes out of his release at the line of scrimmage, can adjust to the football in the air and go up and snag it at its highest point with a nice vertical. The junior is also a tough runner after the catch. Alabama is expected to host him this weekend.

Carde Smith  – Offensive Lineman – Williamson

Smith is one of the state’s top offensive linemen with offers from Florida State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee and others in hand. The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder will have an opportunity to play multiple positions along the offensive front in the future. He is a tenacious and relentless run blocker, who does not stop working until the whistle blows. He is still growing as a pass protector, but he flashes the agility and athleticism a big man needs to develop in the area.

Clarence Taylor – Wide Receiver – Pleasant Grove

Taylor’s offer list does not resemble the likes of some of the others on this list just yet, but that is subject to change really soon. The 6-foot-1 dynamic athlete finished his junior season with 70 Receptions for 1,621 Yards and 25 Touchdowns. He is one of the best route runners in the 2025 recruiting class among wide receivers as he can create separation off the line of scrimmage with his release and at the top of routes. The Pleasant Grove product is also incredibly shifty after the catch.

Malik Autry – Defensive Lineman – Opelika

Autry is one of the state’s top defensive lineman prospects, and he is committed to the Auburn Tigers. The 6-foot-6, 283-pounder is a monster in trenches with his ability to be disruptive seconds after the snap. He is also impressive in space as he will chase down plays from the backside in pursuit of the football. Alabama has shown interest in him in the past, and it will not surprise anyone if he earned an offer from the Crimson Tide in the near future.

Dyllon Williams – Defensive Back – Demopolis

Williams recently earned his first Power 5 offers from Kentucky UCF, and he is set to no longer be a hiding gem in the coming weeks. At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Williams seeks out the football with great closing speed when working downfield from the secondary to help in run support. He attacks plays all over the field and excels at making open-field tackles. He also flashes an ability to go step-to-step with wide receivers.
