Alabama football is showing a special interest in former Crimson Tide offensive lineman commit, Mason Short.
Short is a product of Evans High School in Georgia, and he is one of the top offensive linemen in the 2025 recruiting class. The four-star prospect is getting heavily recruited by many programs, including Clemson and Georgia.
Alabama’s head football coach Kalen DeBoer took a trip to Evans Tuesday to visit Short along with the Tide’s running back coach Robert Gillespie and Alabama’s offensive line coach Scott Huff.

This is the second time the new Alabama staff has traveled to Georgia to meet with Short. Huff made a trip Friday and ensured Short he still had an offer from the Tide.
The 6-foot-6, 315-pounder is a massive lineman, who lined up at left tackle as a junior for Evans. He is an agile lineman, who can execute multiple blocking assignments, including pulling, sealing and operates well in ass protection. Short can also block in space at the second level.
